How the Doll Project Works

It's a game of doll consequences.

We are are nine doll makers and we will each make the start of a doll which then gets added to by everyone else in the group as it travels around over the course of nine months and at the end it is returned to the original maker.

The doll can be as complete or incomplete as we like when it begins it journey. We will keep a record of it as it travels around – some with a camera, a journal or a sketch book, some on this blog.

When a doll arrives with us, we are free to do with it as we like! We spend as much or as little time as we have that month. Add body, head, face, limbs, outfits, accessories, environment, anything that we feel will fit then we post it to the next doll maker in the list. The posting day will be at the end of each month, the first posting day is 30th June 2010.

The resulting dolls will unplanned, uncontrolled and who knows what delights and personalities will be created!

The group is:

Abigail Brown

Alice Gabb

Nancy, Loopy Design

Apolline a Paris

Nicky, The Vintage Magpie

Katy Walker

Kirsty Kissell

Kate , One of a Kind Boutique

Lucy Jane Batchelor

This is the second Doll Project. The first doll project is on display at the V& A Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood in London and has it's own blog.
